Utsikt over Lifjell mot Tjorbufjell, Bø i Telemark, Norge by Øyeblikker
ISO 100, 50mm, f/9.0

Here is my most recent photograph, taken yesterday at sunset from atop of Lifjell mountain range in Telemark county, Southern Norway.
It was very cold up there, the wind blows almost made the camera along with the tripod fly off of the cliff, so I had to hold on to it with both my hands while taking the pictures :).
This one is the first triple exposure image I took that evening.
Post-processing: Photomatix pro, Nix filters from within Lightroom 5.

Love this shot!

Forest in rays of the setting spring sun, Bø i Telemark, Norway by Lena Mikaelsson
                          ISO 250, 44mm, f/ 9.0

Hei,

Here comes another photo taken last week. It was the first time, or one of first times that sun was warm and it felt like spring was here. It was completely magical!
To take advantage of the weather I of course went for a walk and snapped a lot of pictures 🙂
This one is an HDR image, put together with the help of Photomatix Pro. Editing was done in Lightroom 5 and CS6, NIX filters and Dfine software were used to give the image an extra pop 🙂

I usually am one for the natural look, but here I think a bit of a ‘painting-like’ effect gives the image that Enchanted feeling…

Well, let me know what you think 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

I drove past this view almost every day this winter and always thought passing it that I should come here with my camera. And finally couple of days ago I did. This is an HDR image taken with 3 exposures and developed with the help of Photomatix Pro, Lightroom 5 and a light application of several NIX filters. I personally do not like HDR images that are all blown out of the ‘normal range of colors’ that our eyes see when we look at the view so despite this being an HDR, I did try to keep it as realistic as possible and think I did come close enough 🙂 Let me know what you guys think 🙂 Thanks for visiting!

The Spring Storm

Spring Storm

Hi everyone!

Here is my next post and it will be about a Spring storm that we got to “enjoy” in the beginning of March this year :). It all started very normal, it was a sunny spring day and we thought why not go for a walk somewhere on the countryside. And we went to a fjord called Hvalfjörður that’s not far from the city. The storm began very suddenly, in 10 minutes we couldn’t see the sun anymore and the wind took from mere 2 m/s to 8 maybe 10 so it was pretty hard to stand and walk against it. We were about 10 minutes from the car, and by the time we got to it, we felt like the polar explorers, all covered in wet snow 🙂 – good thing we were dressed in winter fashion.

This photograph was taken right before the storm has hit us (and I had to put the camera away, obviously).  And after we got to the car and warmed up, the storm was already passing, and in couple of minutes we got the spring weather back and I got to take couple more pictures of the seagulls floating in the air 🙂

And that’s the story behind this photo 🙂
